Our Story
Since 1955, SON-AERO has supported the aerospace and defense industries with dependable manufacturing, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Our story began with a focus on manufacturing precision rubber components for aerospace applications. As customer requirements evolved and new technologies emerged, SON-AERO evolved with them. In the 1970s, the company expanded its manufacturing capabilities and relocated to an 88,000-square-foot facility in Anaheim, California—establishing the foundation for the diversified operation we are today.
Over the decades, SON-AERO has grown beyond its roots in rubber manufacturing to provide a broad range of engineered solutions across rubber, plastic, compression-molded, and precision-machined components. By bringing multiple capabilities together under one roof, we help customers simplify their supply chains, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and confidently move critical programs forward.
A New Era of Growth
In 2018, SON-AERO entered a new chapter under new ownership. This transition brought renewed energy, strategic investment, and a clear vision for the future. Since then, we have continued to modernize our operations, strengthen our capabilities, and build a team prepared to support the changing needs of the aerospace and defense industries.
Today, SON-AERO employs approximately 120 team members who bring experience, skill, and dedication to every program we support. Our standard production schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, providing an efficient and responsive manufacturing structure. In 2024, we added dedicated night shifts within our rubber and compression molding departments to expand capacity and support increasing customer demand. Both departments have additional growth potential and can extend production into weekends when program requirements call for it.
This operational flexibility allows us to respond quickly, scale production efficiently, and support customers throughout the full program lifecycle—from early development and qualification to full-rate production and long-term sustainment.
Built for What’s Next
While our capabilities and operations continue to advance, the principles behind our work remain unchanged. We understand that the components we manufacture contribute to larger systems, critical missions, and the safety of those who depend on them. That responsibility influences every decision we make—from engineering and material selection to manufacturing, inspection, and delivery.
As SON-AERO continues to grow, we are also introducing a refreshed brand that better reflects the company we have become: experienced yet forward-thinking, highly capable yet responsive, and committed to building lasting partnerships with our customers.
Nearly seven decades after our founding, we remain focused on the future—investing in our people, expanding our capabilities, and delivering reliable manufacturing solutions for the aerospace and defense programs that move the world forward.
Through every stage of our journey, we have remained grounded in the values that define who we are:
Respect. Integrity. Excellence.
